IRS Releases 1991 Corporation Source Book
WASHINGTON - Corporations filed 3.8 million active federal
income tax returns for 1991, reporting S11.4 trillion in total
receipts, $350 billion of income subject to tax, and a tax liability
of $92.6 billion of income tax after credits.
These and other corporate statistics are reported in the
Internal Revenue Service's Publication 1053, 1991 Corporation Source
Book, available now. The publication includes aggregate statistics
on assets, liabilities, receipts, deductions, tax, and tax credits,
presented by industry groups and total asset sizes.
Publication 1053 can be purchased in print or on 35 mm
microfilm for $175 and on floppy disk or magnetic tape for $1,500.
"A General Description of the Corporation Source Book" (Publication
647) includes a list of industry classifications and tape
specifications and is available without charge by calling the
Statistics of Income Information Service Office at (202) 874-0410
