TV Tax Clinic Scheduled for Feb. 3 on PBS
WASHINGTON - The IRS invites you to test your financial skills
by participating in a TV tax quiz.
"Taxbreak '91: Raising Your Tax IQ" -- a one-hour viewer call-
in program -- will air over most public television stations on
Sunday, February 3, from 2 to 3 p.m. (EST). Deborah Norville, co-
anchor of NBC's "Today" show, will host "Taxbreak "91," produced
by the IRS in cooperation with WQED-TV in Pittsburgh.
During the program, the studio audience and home viewers will
be quizzed on their knowledge of the federal income tax law. IRS
experts and private tax return preparers will provide information
on recent tax law changes, how to get q quicker refund and special
tax benefits for older Americans. Tax concerns of married couples
and single parents, the importance of accuracy in completing
returns and free taxpayer assistance will also be highlighted.
IRS assistors will be available to answer viewer's questions
by toll-free telephone throughout the program and for one hour
immediately following.
