IRS Appoints Donna C. Hansberry to be Assistant to the Commissioner (Attorney–Advisor for Tax)
WASHINGTON - The Internal Revenue Service announced today the appointment of Donna C. Hansberry to the position of Assistant to the Commissioner (AttorneyAdvisor for Tax).
Donna´s record of successful litigation for the IRS highly recommends her for this position, said IRS Commissioner Mark W. Everson. Donna brings a wealth of experience to the job, and I am looking forward to her guidance on many upcoming decisions.
As Assistant to the Commissioner, Hansberry will serve as a senior legal advisor on the Commissioner´s immediate staff, providing advice on tax regulations, guidance and litigation.
From Sept. 1987 until her recent appointment, Hansberry was a trial attorney for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel in Chicago, IL, practicing before the Tax Court and Bankruptcy Court. She has received degrees from Boston College (BA), Washington University School of Law (JD),and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University (MBA).
