Registration Now Open for Institute on International Taxation
WASHINGTON - Registration is
currently underway for the Tenth Annual Institute on Current Issues in International
Taxation sponsored by The Internal Revenue Service and George Washington University. The
Institute, designed for professionals in international tax law, will be held December 11
and 12 at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C.
On the first day, Competent Authorities from the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and a
representative of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, will discuss
mutual agreement procedures, including exchange of information, advance pricing agreements
and simultaneous examinations. Other sessions will include interpreting tax treaties,
hedging for multinationals, and revisiting check-the-box regulations and joint ventures
issues. Acting IRS Commissioner Michael P. Dolan will be a featured luncheon speaker. The
second day will include sessions on controversial cross-border transactions, inbound
developments, U.S. multinational update, and an "Ask the IRS" panel.
