Taxbreak '96
WASHINGTON - Taxbreak '96, the Internal Revenue Service's
one-hour television assistance and information program for
taxpayers, will air on most Public Television stations Sunday,
February 18 at 3:00 p.m. (EST).
This program for the "do-it-yourself" taxpayer will highlight
the choices taxpayers now have in filing their returns, including
telephone and electronic filing. It also gives practical information
on getting help and information -- including tax forms and
publications -- via computer networks and CD ROM.
Bill Kurtis, executive producer and host of the PBS series "The
New Explorers" hosts the show. Tax professionals will join Kurtis to
answer many common tax questions and discuss filing options. In the
spirit of the hands-on approach, Mary Ann Esposito, from the PBS
Italian cooking show "Ciao Italia," and Norm Abram of "This Old
House" and "The New Yankee Workshop" will introduce a number of
common tax situations.
